Overview
This conference aims to continue to fill the knowledge gap in oncologic emergency medicine by providing information in an interactive forum that in turn enhances medical decision-making by healthcare providers. The proposed program will cover a variety of topics including: • Barriers to Care • Goals of Care • Innovations in the Treatment of DVT-New Treatment • Managing Pain at the End-of-Life

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Present clinical best practices for treating oncologic emergencies in an emergency department setting
  2. Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork in conjunction with attending to acute, complex care of the cancer patient
  3. Assess the role of emergency medicine in treating patients diagnosed with cancer
  4. Showcase the importance of education in ‘Oncologic Emergency Medicine’

 A Virtual Live Streaming Course

The symposium will begin at 8:00 AM on Friday, January 27, 2023, and will adjourn at 1:00 PM on Saturday,  January 28, 2023.

The deadline for advanced registration is Monday, January 9, 2023. 

The Zoom information and all other necessary links will be emailed out the week of the conference.

Telephone registrations are not accepted.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

The registration fee, minus a $50 administration-handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before Monday, January 9, 2023 for both activities.  No refunds will be granted after these dates. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check. 

The Department of Continuing Professional Education (CPE), reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone number given on the registration form.  In case of activity cancellation, the liability of the Department of CPE, is limited to the registration fee. CPE, will refund the full registration fee. 

The Department of CPE, reserves the right to limit the number of participants in a program and is not responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.
