Overview
In module 3 of this activity series, the learners will be able to understand the importance of providing supportive care to the cancer patient before, during, and after radiation treatment, including psychosocial, nutrition, sexuality, and pediatric-specific considerations. An overview of the roles and responsibilities of the social worker, nutritionist, and child life specialist will be reviewed.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the relevant supportive care needs of the cancer patient undergoing radiation therapy before, during, and after treatment.
  2. Discuss best practices in assessing and managing supportive care needs for cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  3. Interpret the interprofessional roles and responsibilities of different healthcare providers who manage the supportive care needs of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.
