Overview
This course is designed for anesthesiologists, nurses, and post-operative healthcare professionals to simulate the diagnosis and management of malignant hyperthermia (MH) in the operating room. The simulation will include scenarios that mimic the signs and symptoms of MH, such as muscle rigidity, tachycardia, and elevated end-tidal carbon dioxide levels. Participants will learn how to recognize the early signs of MH, as well as how to properly use the anesthesia machine and crisis management drugs. The course will also cover the importance of communication and teamwork in the management of MH, as well as the proper use of dantrolene, the drug of choice for treating MH. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a better understanding of how to recognize and manage MH, and will be better equipped to handle such situations in the future.

  2. Explain the treatment strategies for MH and secondary sequelae.
