Overview
This activity is designed for healthcare professionals with an emphasis on sepsis awareness, early detection and infection management in cancer patients. The overarching goal of the activity is to provide healthcare professionals practical knowledge to aid them in the recognition of infection and sepsis, and management of infection.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Identify patients at risk to developing sepsis.
  2. Recognize early signs and symptoms of sepsis.
  3. Identify care measures to prevent sepsis.
  4. Identify measures to prevent and manage infection.
  5. Recognize the three most common Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI).
  6. Identify stages of the sepsis continuum.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Self-report knowledge in the identification of patients at risk to developing sepsis.
  2. Self-report knowledge in the recognition on the early signs and symptoms of sepsis.
  3. Self-report intent to apply care measures to prevent sepsis.
  4. Self-report intent to apply measures to prevent and manage infection.
  5. Self-report knowledge in the recognition of the three most common HAI.
  6. Self-report knowledge in the identification of the stages of the sepsis continuum.
