Overview

This seminar will offer essential knowledge and information regarding opioid utilization and its associated clinical, public health, and legal ramifications as well as provide practical solutions to address such issues and improve patients outcomes.



ACCME Objectives
  1. Apply the latest evidence-based principles of pain management and chronic opioid therapy.
  2. Recognize scope and magnitude of the opioid epidemic.
  3. Self-report knowledge and skills gained for team collaboration managing cancer pain in a holistic fashion.
  4. Utilize practical strategies and skills to address nonmedical opioid use.
  5. Implement way to improve patient care and ensure patient safety related to the use of opioids.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Nurses will demonstrate knowledge by participating in discussions on the latest opioid management strategies
  2. Nurses will apply knowledge in case study discussion on how Interprofessional teams will work together to improve patient outcomes for cancer patients on opioids.

Registration

Virtual Conference opens at 7:45 am on Friday, April 23, 2021 at and the conference will adjourn at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 24, 2021.  All times are CST (Central Standard Time)

You will receive instructions for the Virtual program via email 3-5 days prior to the conference.  The only requirement for the online training is that you must have a laptop/desktop computer, webcam and access to stable internet connection.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: The registration fee, minus a $50.00 administrative handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before April 10, 2021.  No refunds will be granted after that date.  The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check.  For additional information, contact Continuing Professional Education at 713-792-2223 or toll free at 866-849-5866 or email [email protected].
