The Pain Consortium Conference serves as a unique platform for collaboration and networking among Pain Sciences professionals. Bringing together experts from diverse backgrounds, this conference fosters interdisciplinary discussions on cutting-edge research in both clinical and basic sciences. With a focus on bridging gaps between different departments working on pain, the conference aims to stimulate new research projects and promote a holistic understanding of pain after cancer treatment. By removing silos in pain research, this gathering of experiences seeks to cultivate innovative solutions and advance patient care. Join us for a transformative event that combines scientific exploration, collaborative networking, and the opportunity to shape the future of pain management.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Generate ideas and connections required to perform cutting-edge basic and translational research in order to develop novel assessment tools and treatments for pain management.
  2. Develop methods to train the next generation of international thought leaders in pain research and care.
  3. Utilize existing pain management assets within MD Anderson to improve the quality of care provided to patients.

Registration

The MDACC Pain Research Consortium, will begin at 8:00 AM on Friday, October 27, 2023 and the conference will conclude at 5:00 PM. Advanced registration is encouraged as space is limited.  Please see registration section below for applicable fees.

When registering online a receipt (confirmation letter) will be automatically emailed to the e-mail address you list on the registration form.  The Zoom ID and Password will be communicated via email 72 hours before the symposium start time. Video recording of the event will be available online for 30 days after the symposium. CME credit will not be awarded for viewing the video recordings.

Telephone registrations are not accepted.

Refund/Cancellation Policy
The registration fee, minus a $25 administration-handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before October 15, 2023. No refunds will be granted after these dates. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check. 

Continuing Professional Education (CPE), reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form. In case of activity cancellation, the liability of the CPE is limited to the registration fee. CPE will refund the full registration fee. 

CPE reserves the right to limit the number of participants in an activity and is not responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.

Evaluation
A course evaluation tool will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient health status. Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics.  The survey link will be provided during the review course.

In support of improving patient care, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
