Overview
A dermatoscope is a highly portable medical device that pairs a 10x magnifier with polarized light to better visualize the structures of skin lesions. When providers are appropriately trained, dermatoscopes are a cost-effective, accurate, and easy to use tool for providers to detect melanoma at its earliest stages when it is easiest to treat. The modules presented in this self-paced course seek to bridge the gap for enhanced dermsocopy training among practicing dermatologists.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate understanding of dermoscopy in determining benign vs. malignant lesions
  2. Demonstrate understanding of dermoscopy in accurate diagnoses of lesions
  3. Demonstrate improved confidence in the dermoscopic diagnosis of skin lesions
  4. Implement best practices for standardization of dermoscopy education
