Overview
The SOAP (Surgical Oncology Advanced Practitioner) Conference aims to foster collaboration and share best practices among Advanced Practice Providers in surgical oncology. The activity program is dedicated to presenting the latest evidence on the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of solid tumor malignancies, and enhancing multi-disciplinary management for medical professionals involved in patient care and clinical research. The activity will build on previous successes, offering Advanced Practice Providers a premier platform for peer-to-peer learning, specialized surgical oncology training, and professional growth.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Evaluate recent advances in the surgical management of solid tumors and integrate relevant techniques and approaches into clinical practice
  2. Describe fundamentals of solid tumor imaging, and how to review and interpret pertinent findings from cross sectional imaging of the head, neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis.
  3. Assess and apply procedural, diagnostic, and perioperative care strategies relevant to surgical oncology practice to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes.
  4. Examine and illustrate the changing role of the advanced practice professionals in the delivery of oncology care for surgical patients in various practice settings, including the ambulatory clinic, inpatient hospital, and the surgical assist role.

The 6th Surgical Oncology Advanced Practitioner Conference registration opens at NOON on Thursday, April 29, 2027 and adjourns at 5:30 PM, Saturday, May 1, 2027. 

The welcome reception is scheduled for Friday, April 30, 2027, at 6:00 PM immediately after the conference adjourns for the day. Reception venue/location to be announced at a later date. Transportation will be provided from the conference to the venue.

Telephone registrations are not accepted.

When registering online a receipt (confirmation letter) will be automatically emailed to the e-mail address you list on the on-line registration form.  Once your payment has been made, a receipt can be found in the MyCE tab of your PEP@MD Anderson account.

Refund/Cancellation Policy
The registration fee, minus a $50.00 administration-handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before Friday, April 5, 2027.  No refunds will be granted after these dates. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check.

The Department of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form.  In case of activity cancellation, the liability of the Department of Continuing Professional Education, is limited to the registration fee. CPE will refund the full registration fee.

The Department of Continuing Professional Education, reserves the right to limit the number of participants in a program and is not responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.

Credit Designation
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designates this live activity will award 18.75 Nursing Contact Hours which includes APRN (hours pending) Pharmacotherapeutics credit.
