Overview
The inaugural MD Anderson Integrative Oncology Symposium 2027 brings together leading experts committed to advancing an evidence-informed, whole-person approach to cancer care. As the first symposium of its kind at MD Anderson, it highlights rigorous science in mind–body interventions, nutrition, exercise oncology, integrative therapies, and the safe, data-driven integration of natural products—showcasing how integrative therapies can be seamlessly integrated into standard of care across the cancer continuum. Through focused keynotes, expert panels, and clinically grounded discussions, this debut symposium offers a dynamic forum for oncology providers such as clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, therapists, researchers, and innovators shaping the future of precision integrative oncology. Participants will gain practical, evidence-aligned strategies to enhance patient quality of life and strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration in cancer care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply evidence-informed integrative oncology strategies when developing oncology care plans.
  2. Interpret emerging research on integrative therapies, mind–body therapies, nutrition, exercise, and natural products.
  3. Evaluate safety, indications, and contraindications for integrative approaches in oncology.
  4. Incorporate integrative modalities into routine practice with greater consistency and clinical assurance.
  5. Communicate integrative recommendations effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
  6. Navigate patient discussions about herbs and supplements by analyzing evidence, identifying safety concerns, and guiding appropriate, informed decision-making.
