Overview
LEAP-N Oncology Series is designed for healthcare professionals to keep them updated in oncology patient care concepts with a focus on advanced pharmacotherapeutics. This activity will target education to strengthen knowledge in therapy selection, adverse effect management, and risk mitigation, including antimicrobial resistance and opioid use disorder.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Review selection of antimicrobial therapy in oncology patients, including considerations for resistance, spectrum of activity, and patient-specific factors.
  2. Discuss the use of recently approved and restricted antimicrobials in the management of infections in the cancer population.
  3. Analyze updated changes to antimicrobial agents for the management of C difficile infections.
  4. Identify pharmacological treatment options and interventional approaches to chronic pain management in oncology patients.
  5. Apply strategies to balance effective pain control with the risk of opioid use disorder (OUD) and treatment-related adverse effects.
  6. Examining when GLP-1 RA therapy is appropriate in individuals with cancer.
