Overview

Through expert led lectures, interactive discussions, and real-world case studies, attendees gain actionable insights and updated tools that directly support high quality, precise patient care in surgical pathology.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Recognize significant updates and emerging trends in diagnostic and surgical pathology that influence current clinical practice.
  2. Integrate updated diagnostic criteria and biomarker developments to improve accuracy in evaluating neoplastic and non-neoplastic lesions.
  3. Incorporate molecular and immunohistochemical testing more effectively to strengthen diagnostic interpretation and support high-quality patient care.

Registration

The William O. Russell Annual Conference: Nuts and Bolts in Surgical Pathology conference will be held on December 4-5, 2026, at UT MD Anderson's Mitchell Building, Onstead Auditorium, located at 6767 Bertner Ave., Houston, TX 77030.

Day 1: Begins on Friday, December 4, 2026, with Welcome and Remarks at 8:00 AM, followed by a Welcome Reception at 5:00 PM, inclusive of all speakers, learners, and industry sponsors.

Day 2: Reconvenes on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 8:30 AM and will adjourn at 3:00 PM with Farewell and Adjournment.

This two-day activity will explore the latest advancements in tumor and surgical pathology, including evolving classification systems, diagnostic challenges, and the integration of molecular and ancillary testing. Through expert-led discussions and real-world case-based presentations, the course aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy and provide practical tools that can be applied in daily practice to improve patient care. This activity also offers an opportunity to earn Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II credit for the American Board of Pathology.

Refund/Cancellation Policy The registration fee, minus a $50.00 administration-handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before Wednesday, November 4, 2026.  No refunds will be granted after these dates. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check.

The Department of Continuing Professional Education (CPE), reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form.  In case of activity cancellation, the liability of CPE, is limited to the registration fee.  CPE, will refund the full registration fee. CPE reserves the right to limit the number of participants in a program and is not responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.
