Overview
In the past decade, the treatment paradigm for advanced or metastatic melanoma has evolved. Most importantly, immunotherapy has enabled deep remissions for a significant fraction of patients, with approximately 10% needing no further melanoma therapy. Interdisciplinary clinicians involved in the management of patients with melanoma are often challenged to keep up with the therapy landscape and understand how to integrate new options in the treatment planning. Therefore, education is needed to help oncologists and other clinicians optimize the treatment plan for each patient based on the evolving clinical evidence, guideline recommendations, expert perspectives, and patient preferences and expectations for therapy.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Assess the role of immunotherapy in the care of patients with advanced melanoma.
  2. Develop an interdisciplinary treatment plan for patients with advanced melanoma.
  3. Manage adverse events associated with immunotherapy for advanced melanoma.
  4. Leverage the skills of the interdisciplinary team members in the comprehensive care of patients with advanced melanoma.
