Overview
This comprehensive Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP®) Review Course is designed to aide oncology APRNs in closing the gaps in knowledge related to preparation for the AOCNP® certification exam.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Determine advance practice role in the cancer continuum.
  2. Discuss cancer treatments and supportive care modalities.
  3. Review oncologic emergencies.
  4. Describe psychosocial issues that may impact patients with cancer.
  5. Explain professional practice and roles of the APRN in cancer care.

The conference will be in a hybrid format.  The in-person conference registration will be held at the MD Anderson Mid-Campus - Building 1 (1MC) located at 7007 Bertner Avenue, Houston, Texas 77030 on Floor 3 and will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024.  A separate area will be set up for speaker check-in.

Maximum in-person registration is 220 attendees.

   

Telephone registrations are not accepted.

A Virtual Live Streaming Course (Virtual Attendees Only)

The symposium will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 and will adjourn at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

The presentations will be recorded and posted online 10-12 days after the conference adjourns for paid registrants only.

 

Once your payment has been made, a receipt can be found in the MyCE area of your PEP@MD Anderson account. The Zoom information and all other necessary links will be emailed out the week of the conference.

 

For the virtual component, the conference will be streamed live via Zoom.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY
The registration fee, minus a $50 administrative handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before Tuesday, October 1, 2024.  No refunds will be granted after that date.  The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check.  For additional information, contact Continuing Professional Education at 713-792-2223 or toll free at 866-849-5866.

Continuing Professional Education reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form.

In case of activity cancellation, the liability of Continuing Professional Education is limited to the registration fee.  Continuing Professional Education will refund the full registration fee.

Evaluation
A course evaluation tool will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient health status.  Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics.  The survey link will be provided during the course.
