Overview
Immunotherapy is the latest pillar in the systemic treatment of cancer. Oncology nurses play a key role in assessing and managing patients on these agents. This program will provide an overview of cancer biology, principles of immunotherapy and discussion of the different classifications of these agents. This will include information on checkpoint inhibitors, bispecific antibodies, antibody drug conjugates, and immune effector cells.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe carcinogenesis and genomic changes resulting in the hallmark characteristics of cancer cells.
  2. Summarize the classification of immunotargeted agents with implications for side effect management and patient teaching.

 REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION:

To receive Nursing Contact Hours (1.00 hours) for this activity, the participant must: 

•Create an account in the Professional Education Portal (PEP) and save your Mobile Number to your PEP account if not already done. 
•Register for this activity.
•During activity, TEXT your attendance to 1-844-912-1333 and up to 24 hrs after the course has ended using the Activity ID provided by the Facilitator during program.
•Complete a participant evaluation in PEP, under the MyCE tab, within 30 consecutive days of the learning activity where you will also have immediate access to your Certificate.
