Overview
This series will improve delivery of best practices in taking care of the cancer patient and survivors and provide expertise in diagnosis and treatment. Rapid advances in hematology and solid tumor oncology result in suboptimal assessment of prognostic markers, lack of current guidelines use, lack of individualized treatment by tumor site standards of care, late referrals to clinical trials and misdiagnoses. Receiving this information will equip learners with new knowledge and improve standards of care to include early screening.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Demonstrate proficiency of knowledge in screening options for lung cancer.
  2. Implement and apply new modalities of lung cancer screening and update standards of care to include new developments.
  3. Provide patients with prevention guidance in cessation as well as accurate detection of possible lung cancer before metastasis and efficient referrals to specialists who provide up-to-date optimal treatment plans.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe current screening guidelines and prevention strategies regarding lung cancer.
