Overview
The proposed symposium aims to bring the oncologic community together to better understand the treatment and care of patients with toxicities due to an IO treatment plan. Health care professionals will review IOTOX treatment recommendations. Health professionals will provide clinical presentations to determine a diagnosis, potential treatment options, and implement standard care and also investigational options.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Outline the guideline recommendations for each toxicity;
  2. Identify patient treatment plans to evaluate difficult patient circumstances as it pertains to IOTOX; and
  3. Provide treatment plans and IOTOX guidelines to all providers including APPs, Nurses and Trainees.
  4. Identify location and use of national societies guidelines for IOTOX;
  5. Implement IOTOX guidelines that are vetted by both oncologists and internal medicine specialists;

Registration

The MDACC IOTOX Clinical Education Symposium, will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 and the symposium will conclude at 4:30 pm. Advanced registration is encouraged as space is limited.  Please see registration form for applicable fees.

When registering online a receipt (confirmation letter) will be automatically emailed to the e-mail address you list on the registration form.  The Zoom ID and Password will be communicated via email 72 hours before the symposium start time. Video recording of the event will be available online for 30 days after the symposium. CME credit will not be awarded for viewing the video recordings.

Telephone registrations are not accepted.

Refund/Cancellation Policy
The registration fee, minus a $25 administration-handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before November 12, 2022. No refunds will be granted after these dates. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check. 

The Department of Continuing Professional Education (CPE), reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form. In case of activity cancellation, the liability of the CPE is limited to the registration fee. CPE will refund the full registration fee. 

CPE reserves the right to limit the number of participants in an activity and is not responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.

Evaluation
A course evaluation tool will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient health status. Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics.  The survey link will be provided during the review course.



Accreditation
Accreditation/Credit Designation - PHYSICIANS
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


Maintenance of Certification


AMERICAN BOARD OF INTERNAL MEDICINE (ABIM)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 6.75 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Participant completion data will be shared with and transmitted to the ACCME on the participant’s behalf.  In order to receive MOC points, you must pass the post-test with a score of 70% or higher.
