Join us for a one-day event dedicated to advancing health professions education across Southeast Texas. The TEACH-S Annual Symposium brings together a regional community of educators to showcase scholarly innovations, share best practices, and foster meaningful collaboration.

This daylong symposium features:

  • Inspiring keynote sessions

  • Interactive workshops

  • Small group discussions

  • Oral and poster presentations

Each year, the hosting institution selects a theme and invites submissions across a variety of session formats. Whether you're presenting or attending, this event offers valuable opportunities to learn, connect, and grow as an educator.

This conference will serve as a dynamic platform for exploring innovative strategies, best practices, collaborative models, and evidence-based approaches that foster interprofessional teamwork, enhance communication across disciplines, and shape the future of healthcare education.

We welcome submissions for 
Poster/Oral Presentations, Workshops, and Small Group Discussions that feature creative initiatives, evidence-based practices, and research that advance interprofessional collaboration, teamwork, and shared learning in healthcare education.

Notification of Acceptance: February 25, 2026

Poster/Oral Presentations

Abstracts describing educational innovation, educational research, or quality initiatives in education are welcome. Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters or short oral presentations. Abstracts should describe work that has been implemented, and results/outcomes information must be available. Use the following headers within the abstracts:

For research abstracts: Title, Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions
For Innovation/Quality Initiatives: Introduction, Project Description, Outcomes, Conclusions
References: (up to 5) may be included.

Abstracts are limited to 350 words; title, authors, and references are not included in the word count.

The poster board size is 4’ in height x 8’ wide; the usable area is 4’ in height x 6’ in width.

When registering online a receipt (confirmation letter) will be automatically emailed to the e-mail address you list on the registration form. 

Refund/Cancellation Policy
The registration fee, minus a $50 administration-handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before May 1, 2026, for activity. No refunds will be granted after these dates. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check. 

The Department of Continuing Professional Education (CPE), reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary. Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form.  In case of activity cancellation, the liability of the CPE is limited to the registration fee. CPE will refund the full registration fee. 

CPE reserves the right to limit the number of participants in an activity and is not responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.
