Overview

RadOnc 2023 is a conference intended to best describe the practices of Radiation Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Many radiation Oncologists and other healthcare providers may not be aware of current literature and randomized studies that may alter the dose, targeting and technique used in radiation treatment. This two-day conference will cover the most recent advances in treatment of central nervous system tumors, head neck cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma, and sarcomas. We will share observations and current studies underway at the institution.

Day 2 will include a concurrent session for Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers, Dosimetrists and Radiation Therapists.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Summarize the current literature which treatment recommendations is based on for the cancers seen and treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
  2. Review the treatment planning for radiation therapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
  3. Review the use of advanced radiation therapy techniques at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

In-Person Format:  On-site registration for the general (physician) program of the conference opens at 7:15 AM on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Dan L. Duncan Building (CPB), Floor 8, Conference Center 1155 Pressler Street, Houston, Texas. The program of the conference will begin at 7:45 AM on Friday, March 3 and adjourn at 12:40 PM on Saturday, March 4.

Virtual Format:  Virtual registration opens at 7:30 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 via Zoom.  The Zoom information and all other necessary links will be emailed out the week of the conference.

When registering online a receipt (confirmation letter) will be automatically emailed to the e-mail address you list on the registration form.  Once your payment has been made, a receipt can be found in the MyCE tab of your PEP@MD Anderson account.

Evaluation
A course evaluation tool will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient health status. Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics.  The survey link will be provided during the review course.

Refund/Cancellation Policy
The registration fee, minus a $50.00 administration-handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before Friday, February 10, 2023.  No refunds will be granted after these dates. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check.

The Department of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form.  In case of activity cancellation, the liability of the Department of Continuing Professional Education is limited to the registration fee.  CPE will refund the full registration fee. 

The Department of Continuing Professional Education reserves the right to limit the number of participants in a program and is not responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.
