Overview

MD Anderson’s Precancer Atlas (PCA) is an institutionally funded initiative designed to comprehensively assess pre-cancers from different organ sites with the long-term goals of (i) discovering interventions for enabling cancer interception; and (ii) accelerating the development of biomarkers for cancer risk stratification and early detection.

Registration

The 2024 Precancer Atlas Research Retreat will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 and the retreat will conclude at 1:30 pm, and it will be held the Zayed Building this year, Z2.4040, Rooms 1-6.

Lunch will be provided for all registrants.

The event is offered at no charge and is open to all MD Anderson faculty, staff and trainees only.

Join the Precancer Atlas for its FY24 Research Retreat. This exciting event will be in person and will highlight the PCA’s research accomplishments as well as emerging technologies for profiling precancers.

Gary Nolan, PhD from Stanford University will provide the keynote address.

The retreat will also feature a poster session with awards for trainees.

MD Anderson’s PreCancer Atlas (PCA), supported by the Institution’s STrategic Research Initiative DEvelopment (STRIDE) program, invites you to submit an abstract for its FY24 Research Retreat, to be held in person on May 7th, 2024 at the Zayed Building (9am-1pm).

Abstracts will be accepted addressing the biology/immunobiology of premalignant lesions, immune interception of precancers (e.g., checkpoint interception, vaccine development, re-purposing targeted therapies) and the identification and development of biomarkers for risk stratification. Abstracts can report on basic, translational, pre-clinical and/or clinical work related to the above topics. Abstracts that have been presented elsewhere are acceptable.

Trainees and students are eligible for poster awards. We will award a best poster prize ($250) to one graduate student and one post-doctoral fellow.

Abstract Guidelines

Deadline: Wednesday, April 8th

Abstracts are limited to 250 words not including title, authors, and author affiliations. Do not include authorship or funding information in the body of the abstract. The abstract should be structured with the below sections:

• Introduction (including objective and/or hypothesis)
• Methods
