Overview
This activity will include an overview of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS), including pathophysiology, clinical and laboratory presentation, risk factors, and preventative measures. TLS management will also be discussed, related to patient monitoring, treatment options, and implications for nursing practice.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe tumor lysis syndrome.
  2. Identify the risk factors for the development of tumor lysis syndrome.
  3. Recognize the signs and symptoms of tumor lysis syndrome.
  4. Explain the treatment options for tumor lysis syndrome.

To receive 1.00 contact hours for this activity, the participant must: 

  • Create an account in the Professional Education Portal (PEP) and save your Mobile Number to your PEP account if not already done. 
  • Register for this activity.
  • During activity, TEXT your attendance to 1-844-912-1333 and up to 24 hrs after the course has ended using the Activity ID provided by the Facilitator during program.
  • Complete a participant evaluation in PEP, under the MyCE tab, within 30 consecutive days of the learning activity where you will also have immediate access to your Certificate.
