L. Alexis Correll, Psy.D. is a staff psychologist at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, specializing Palliative Care and Hospice. She is an Affiliate of the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center for VHA and an Assistant Professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Correll completed her psychology postdoctoral fellowship at VA Palo Alto in Interprofessional Palliative Care. She received her doctorate from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed her clinical internship in health psychology at VA Miami. Dr. Correll’s clinical interests include working with adults with chronic, life-limiting, and life-threatening illnesses, as well as issues related to sexual dysfunction and intimacy, anticipatory grief and ambiguous loss, and trauma within this population.
