Asha Demla, DNP, APRN, AOCNP

 

Asha Demla is an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with almost 15 years of dedicated care of adult oncology patients. She currently practices as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center ( UT MDACC).  Demla has received specialty training as a post-graduate fellow in oncology nursing from the UT MDACC. She received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Columbia University where she also specialized in an Oncology subspecialty. 

Additionally, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) in New York. While at Columbia University, she received a Rudin Scholarship for oncology subspecialty as well as the faculty award for oncology. 

 

She is a recent graduate of the Executive Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.  Her research focus is on improving oral medication adherence among stem cell transplant patients with the use of a medication reporting or journaling intervention.
