Maria Petzel, RD, CSO, LD, CNSC, FAND

Maria is a Senior Clinical Dietitian here at M. D. Anderson, where she has specialized in the care of patients with GI cancers since 2003.  For more than 15 years, her career has been dedicated to the nutritional management of patients with pancreatic cancer. Maria frequently lectures, writes, and is a content expert on the topic for both patient and professional organizations. She is a current member of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Precision Promise Supportive Care Working Group and served on the Scientific and Medical Advisory Board for over a decade. She has been honored as an Outstanding Patient Educator by M.D. Anderson and was awarded with the Distinguished Practice Award by the Oncology Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group for her contributions to GI cancer nutrition.
