These symposia traditionally encompass a comprehensive range of sessions, spanning both clinical and non-clinical sessions. In this symposium, we aspire to enhance the inclusivity and relevance of the event by introducing a dedicated session tailored specifically for patients and their families. This initiative aims to provide valuable insights, support, and information directly to those impacted by adrenal cancer.

Abstracts and Awards
Join us and present your latest research in Houston for the 9th International Adrenal Cancer Symposium! This event brings together the world leaders in adrenocortical carcinoma, offering a platform to present your work. 

Abstract Deadlines:

  • Abstract submission opens: June 15, 2024
  • Abstract submission deadline: September 30th, 2024
  • Abstract notification date: October 18, 2024

Submission - All abstracts must be submitted electronically via email to Vania Balderrama Brondani, [email protected].

  • Prior Publication and Presentation - The data in the submitted abstract cannot have been published or presented at another international scientific meeting.
  • Number of Abstracts - Authors can submit an unlimited number of abstracts.
  • Number of Authors - There is no limit on the number of authors on an abstract.
  • MEETING REGISTRATION AND PRESENTATION REQUIRED An author of the abstract is required to register and present in person at the meeting

Abstract submission is free

Scientific Abstracts
Scientific abstracts  must be submitted as a PDF file and include Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Discussion/Conclusion. The word limit is 350 words, and only one table is allowed per abstract. The abstracts must be submitted in English.  

The Program Committee will carefully select abstracts to be nominated for posters or oral presentation (10 minutes). The program committee will select the top three (3) abstracts of each category. 

Abstract Awards
Thanks to generous support, the symposium will assist with lodging to attend the symposium for up to 25 participants.  The Symposium will cover the cost of three (3) nights at the host hotel (room & tax) as well an abstract award of $1,500 USD for international participants and $750 USD for US participants.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be a trainee, resident, fellow, or student.  
  • Applicants must register for the symposium by September 30, 2024.
  • Applicants must be a first author AND presenter of a submitted abstract.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify molecular targets for future translational and clinical research.
  2. Discuss the appropriate treatment options for both localized and advanced cases of adrenal cancer based on individual patient characteristics.
  3. Develop effective communication and counseling skills for educating patients and their families about adrenal cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and comprehensive management strategies.

9th International Adrenal Cancer Symposium - November 22-23, 2024.  The symposium will begin at 7:30 AM, Friday, November 22, 2024 and will adjourn at 5:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2024.  Location: Dan L. Duncan Building, 1155 Pressler Street, Floor 8, Houston, TX 77030, Conference Center Rooms 1-8.

Registration fee includes tuition for the in-person Live Activity. Advanced registration is encouraged - The deadline for advanced registration is October 22, 2024.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY

Continuing Professional Education reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary.  Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or at the phone or fax numbers given on the registration form.

In case of activity cancellation, the liability of Continuing Professional Education is limited to the registration fee. Continuing Professional Education will refund the full registration fee.
